CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — They're a huge part of our lives, teaching us all the way into adulthood. On Monday, they received the special recognition they deserve each and every day.
World Teachers' Day was celebrated to start off the work week.
This year especially, teachers are going above and beyond to educate and care for others.
According to UNESCO, "The day provides the occasion to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide, take stock of achievements, and draw attention to the voices of teachers, who are at the heart of efforts to attain the global education target of leaving no one behind."
