Lil Nas X Tears It Up on Saturday Night Live

Lil Nas X brushed off a wardrobe malfunction and stole the show with a pair of impressive performances during the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 22.
Donning leather pants alongside a crew of shirtless dancers, Lil Nas X first performed “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” a wildly popular hit song that put queer themes front-and-center and shot to the top of the charts immediately after debuting in late March.
It was the first time Lil Nas X performed the song live — and he did not shy away one bit. One of the dancers licked him during the smooth and sweaty performance in front of a mainstream national audience.

But when Lil Nas X moved to dance on a pole, his leather pants ripped — and his face lit up in surprise. He managed to cover up before finishing the song without difficulty.
“NOT MY PANTS RIPPED ON LIVE ON TV,” he wrote in a tweet just minutes after the song concluded. “OMFG NO.”
Lil Nas X also took part in a pre-recorded Pride-related skit during the show before returning to the stage in a white suit to perform “Sun Goes Down,” which was just released on May 21. The emotional song focuses on Lil Nas X during his youth when he struggled with his sexuality.
Lil Nas X pulled off the pair of performances with ease, but after the show he revealed the roadblocks he experienced along the way.
“At first I was afraid to even perform,” he wrote on Twitter. “Then we rehearsed for two weeks, then all of the dancers got removed because one had COVID and new ones had to learn the routine in 24 hours, and then I ended up ripping my pants and couldn’t finish. Everything happens for a reason tho lol.”
Lil Nas X’s complete album, “Montero,” is expected to be released during the summer.

natriley14 MayOne of the few stories fully reporting the controversy over the Nordic model endorsed by DA Vance. Sex work is ok, but buying sex is a crime. That's telling sex workers that the government is trying to take the profit out of their work. Sex work can not be regulated public hostility is just too great for the jobs to be treated fairly. Sex work is an exchange of money for specific services, adults should live their own lives and make their own arrangements. It involves choices freely given.

Some Members Quit as Stonewall Democrats Stand By Stringer
Jon Winkleman7 MayPersonally I would have voted to pull the endorsement but the decision to announce that the motion failed by a single vote was amateur and undermines the bylaws and vote of membership. Endorsements by the bylaws are binary. A candidate either is or is not endorsed, they do not provide degrees of endorsement. Announcing that 2/3rds minus one of members do not support Stringer disrespects the voting process and undermines the power of SDNYC’s endorsement and angers people on both sides. Board members and the club president have a fiduciary responsibility to respect the fair and democratic vote of members. Instead of a public temper tantrum, those departing members should have made phone calls and emails to lobby friends and persuade them to pull the endorsement in advance of the vote. Board members should have been reminded that it is their duty as active board members to respect the results of a fair vote no matter how strongly they disagree. It is also disappointing that the departing members invoke -isms yet Brian’s statement is profoundly agist. Brian blames the club leadership for a lack of diversity yet he was the previous president and squandered his opportunity and responsibility to build more diversity in the club’s membership and board. Instead Brian used his term as president to get himself a job as a state senators Chief of Staff which makes his words profoundly cynical.
