One person is dead, and another is injured after a horse-drawn buggy crash in the Town of Loyal in Clark County Saturday afternoon.

TOWN OF LOYAL, Wis. (WSAW) - One person is dead, and another is injured after a horse-drawn buggy crash in the Town of Loyal in Clark County Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred on County Highway K, north of Spencer Road in the town of Loyal. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of the crash at about 2:51 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
The initial investigation indicates that a buggy was traveling northbound on CTH K, north of Spencer Road, when a van that was also traveling northbound hit it from the rear. Both the buggy and van came to rest in the east ditch.
The buggy had two passengers in it. The adult passenger died at the scene of the crash, and the 12-year-old passenger was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center with serious injuries.
The van had one passenger in it who was not injured.
The Loyal Area Fire and Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Marshfield Fire Ambulance Service, and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation of the crash is continuing with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Coroner’s Office, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time.
